4OD – back catalogue going online via Flash

This is something I’ve been hoping to see from the BBC, but Channel 4 have got there first. Later this month Channel 4′s online TV doodad “4OD” will launch their new video-on-demand service which uses Flash as a display medium – which means all us Linux people also get to play.

The use of Flash isn’t really news worthy in itself, what’s really interesting is that they’ll be putting almost their entire back catalogue of home-grown shows online for us all to watch for free, whenever we want. This is epic. Really, really, really huge!
